Sri Lankan – Sinhala Program on 2TripleO
This Sri Lankan program is one of the first program which commenced with the radio station, Radio2000 FM. The program has continually broadcast via 2TripleO since its inception and is produced by volunteers well supported by Lanka Vision, a Sydney based media network and Derana Media, Sri Lanka’s premium media network.
Broadcasting its infotainment content in Sinhala language, the program provides awareness to its listeners by developing creativity and visualisation, and caters to the entire family by broadcasting a wide variety of Sinhala programmes. The content touches on matters relating to everyday life styles of Sri Lankans living in Australia, including Sri Lankan, Australian, World News & Current Affairs, Culture, Sports, History, Science and Technology.
The program was founded by Thilak Ilangasinghe in association with a group of volunteers including Kithsiri Karunaratne and Maithri Panagoda. Since 2010, the program is produced and coordinated by Kithsiri Karunaratne, a highly respected personality within the Arts, Cultural, Media and Entertainment community in Sri Lanka and Australia.
Presently, the Sinhalese program on 2TripleO covers more than 80% of the Sinhala radio listenership in New South Wales.
